Mulxiply
The collection of modern accessories and gifts are created by designer Tanja Cesh in Portland, Maine, and made collaboratively with fair wage artists and craftsmen and women in Kathmandu, Nepal. Born in Los Angeles, Tanja spent 20 years in the design and fashion industry in New York and Boston. She spent 4 months in Southeast Asia with various artisan groups, listening to their stories to further understand the important role that dignified employment plays in keeping both men and women out of the vicious cycle of modern-day slavery. As an artist, Tanja sought to understand the solution that the arts could play in not just interrupting the cycle of poverty but also in elevating the artisan and indigenous craft as a vital part of society and history.
