The concept of La Lavande began in the early 1980s out of the founders family desire to bring the finest French soaps to the United States. They were inspired by the variety and quality of scented soaps available in France. Because of sensitive skin, they were impressed by the mildness of the soap as well as its long-lasting quality. In 1986 inspiration became reality as they began to manufacture and distribute soaps from Provence.
