Comme des Garcons is the highly creative Japanese avant-garde fashion house founded by designer Rei Kawakubo in Paris in 1973. She designs clothing as conceptual art, and her creations are coveted worldwide by those who celebrate the unique and unconventional. The same stellar craftsmanship, attention to detail and utilization of superior materials is applied to the Comme de Garcons fragrances, which began in 1994 as a genderless line designed to align with the style of the garments.
The scents are divided into distinct collections, with some inspired by ‘anti-perfumes’, often blending unusual accords such as gunpowder, mineral carbon, smoke, laundry, ink, burnt rubber, and metal with more traditional well-loved perfumery ingredients. Other collections are centered around a primary note, exploring a multitude of inspired moods and emotions attributed to the olfactive perception of it. The brand does a particularly magnificent job with incenses, spices, and woods, and has developed a signature sensual style that has garnered a loyal cult-following. To wear one of these extraordinary scents is considered a fashion statement of originality in itself!
Guests will have the pleasure of receiving a specially-curated Discovery Kit featuring samples of nine Comme des Garcons fragrances: Incense Series Avignon, Jaisalmer, Zagorsk, Kyoto and Quarzarate and Olfactory Library Series Nomad Tea, Sequoia, Sticky Cake and Palisander. The package will arrive at your home before the event so we can all join in the fun together! The Registration Fee for this event is $20.00, and you will be gifted with a $10.00 credit toward the purchase of a Comme des Garcons fragrance.
