Born in Boston, Richard Scarry began his career illustrating Little Golden Books. He is best known for his large-format Best-Ever book series set in the fictional town of Busytown, home to beloved anthropomorphic characters such as Lowly Worm, Huckle Cat, and Bananas Gorilla. Today, his legacy is carried on by his son, illustrator Richard Scarry Jr., who works under the name Huck Scarry.
