Perfumer Patricia de Nicolai’s creative vision for this fragrance was to present it like a theatrical experience. An overture of golden citrus opens at the top, tinged with rosemary, mint and essence of petit-grain bigarade before announcing the arrival on stage of the majestic Neroli flower. Small in size but powerful in its scent, this bright flower is accompanied by a bouquet of jasmine and ylang ylang that dance together in perfect choreography at the heart. Aromatic oak moss, followed by sheer musk and liquid amber, brings an intoxicating grand finale!

Why we're addicted: This Eau de Toilette was created with the inspiration of a play in three acts that is staged in a natural setting, as a theater in the open air, perched on the heights of a hill looking down across a stretch of the vast Mediterranean.

Born into the legendary Guerlain Family in Paris, perfumer Patricia de Nicolai represents the 4th generation to carry on the family profession and legacy of artistic perfume creation. Surrounded by beautiful aromas and rare raw materials as a child, she immersed herself in fragrance, later studying chemistry and attending the prestigious ISIPCA Perfumery School in Versailles. With the addition of Patricia’s son Axel joining the team, Parfums de Nicolai has flourished as one of the jewels of the independent French perfume industry and today they have eight boutiques across Paris. All the fragrances are entirely created by Patricia in the small laboratory that can be seen by visitors to the shop at 28 Rue de Richelieu near the Louvre, and Patricia delights in showing perfume enthusiasts what happens ‘behind the scenes’. Not Quite...

"This fragrance is (as others have noted) light and summery. Unfortunately, I feel it never radiated the requisite amount of Neroli, to justify the name. The other notes (Rosemary, Mint, etc.) seemed weak to me, as well. I have reboxed the remaining half-bottle and perhaps next summer it will be like seeing (in an olfactory sense) an old friend again. For now however, glad I purchased the smaller bottle and give it a confident vote for unobtrusive workplace fragrance; without the enchantment & sparkle hoped for."

Intoxicating but light summery fragrance

"I got a sample of this and absolutely loved it so I bought the full size. I’m so happy with it - to me it smells like it’s in the same family as Hermès Twilly which I have always loved. This on is light and unfortunately doesn’t last that long but I’m always happy to spray a refresher to my pulse points because this perfume offers transport to the French Riviera and isn’t too focused on orange, which is only a portion of the scents that go into this perfume. It’s muskier than just another orange or bergamot scent. There are layers to this scent and I’m very happy with it!"

Perfect hot summer scent!

"Repeat purchase! Truly perfect for hot, dry summer days. even though this is an eau de toilette, the scent will last through sweating and being out in heat- but it will not sicken or overpower you."

Great for hot weather!

"This is a beautiful tart neroli that works the best in summer months. I look forward to summer just so that I can break out all of my citrus fragrances. This one is in the top 5. Great longevity for a neroli based frag."

Perfect Summer Neroli Scent!

"I blind bought this after reading about it on a popular fragrance forum. I am so glad I did! This scent is super green and crisp in the beginning and rounds out to a non sweet yet creamy citrus and floral scent. The mint and white musk keep it light and airy. This is a perfect scent for men and women alike in the summer. I intend on wearing this often in the hot summer months!"

Lovely and lively!

"This scent is not straight-up orange blossom but much more complex and deep. Lasts longer than most. Not overly sweet."
