Bees are governed by the Sun and Saturn. They are powerful symbols of community, connection, and working together towards a similar goal. Across cultures, honey bees are often seen as magical creatures, and their honey as a divine gift. In Maya culture, one of the hero twins of the Popol Vuh, Xbalanque, is associated with bees and beekeeping, and in ancient Greece, bees were associated with the goddess Artemis. They were also associated with the underworld, because beehives were often located in the cracks of caves, which were though to be the entrances to the underworld.
