Yumiko Sekine started her first business in 1993 importing used books and housewares from Europe and America to Japan. In her search for more products, she could not find affordable every day linens that she had used during her childhood.
In 1999, she visited Lithuania, a country that grows flax, whose fibers are spun into linen. Fog Linen Work now produces a large line of linen products for the home and linen clothing in Lithuania.
In addition to the linen products, Sekine started to produce metal items such as baskets and DIY accessories in India. This line is called “fog et cetera” also cotton items called “miiThaaii.”
Her product lines are leading and defining the natural lifestyle trend today. Sekine continues to be inspired to create beautiful simple products for daily use.
