In Ben's Garden New York studio, the artwork is hand-applied in the French decoupage tradition: laid in reverse beneath crystal glass, sealed with fine varnishes, and burnished until the petals seem to glow from within. The surface is smooth and food-safe, the back is felted to land softly on marble or wood.
