A creamy face mask with a base of purifying green clay, which has always been celebrated for its outstanding absorption.

It eliminates excess sebum from normal or greasy skin, soothes minor skin irritations and removes impurities. The clay also contains beneficial minerals and trace elements, refines pores and makes for an even complexion. Substances from the pineapple support the skin’s regeneration

The pineapples that LIGNE ST BARTH uses have been fully grown in the West Indies sun. Once perfectly ripened, the pineapples are peeled and cut up by hand before being incorporated into the Cream Mask formula. The combination of pineapple extract and green clay is especially recommended for oily or combination skins, due to its mattifying, purifying and toning effects.

Benefits:
PINEAPPLE :
A plant native to South America, the pineapple was introduced into the West Indies by the American Indians and was discovered by Christopher Columbus in Guadeloupe in 1493. It belongs to the Bromeliaceae family and is renowned primarily for its juicy, refreshing fruit. The name “pineapple” comes from the American Indian Guarani word, “naná naná”, which means “the perfume of all perfumes”. It was originally used in the West Indies as a poultice to accelerate the healing of wounds.

Rich in bromelain (an enzyme that breaks down large proteins), pineapples are reputed for their slimming properties. The fruit is prized for its ability to purify, soothe and restore radiance to your tint, reinforced by the exfoliating effect of the fruit acid it contains. The fruit’s sugars are renowned for their moisturizing and softening properties. As a natural source of vitamins, fruit acids and enzymes, fresh pineapple is an excellent foodstuff as well as the perfect partner for your skin. Used in cosmetics, it is reputed for its antioxidant, regenerative, moisturizing, smoothing and draining properties.

GREEN CLAY :
Used for thousands of years, clay is a mild, naturally occurring mineral product. It is the result of a long process of erosion taking place within the natural environment. Produced from the combined action of wind and water, it is extracted from the ground, dried in the sun and ground to a very fine powder. Green clay is rich in trace elements with purifying, mattifying, regenerative and remineralising qualities. It is also ideally suited for oily or a combination skin due to its absorbing properties (the most effective of all clays), with the ability to absorb impurities and excess sebum.

Rich in minerals, the green clay or illite is composed of hydrated aluminium silicate and iron oxide, and contains a large quantity of silicon. This clay is a natural mineral belonging to the phyllosilicate family (similar to talc and mica minerals), and its layered structure results in excellent absorption and concealing properties. It is also able to fix molecules to its surface, once in contact with the skin. The clay re-mineralises and detoxifies the skin by replacing the skin’s impurities and toxins with its own mineral salts. In cosmetics, green clay is usually used as a base for masks, poultices and wraps, for complexion boosters and toning treatments.

Mask shine and radiate your full charm:

Once or twice a week, apply a generous layer of Cream Mask with Green Clay and Pineapple to your face (avoiding the skin around the eyes), neckline and top of your chest. Relax for 15 to 20 minutes to allow the mask to work, before rinsing off thoroughly with warm water. Avoid rubbing, as this will reduce the clarifying effect.

With a sumptuously creamy consistency, this aquatic green mask spreads easily. You cannot help but be seduced by its green aquatic perfume, enrobed in bitter almond with a note of yellow fruits and mellow vanilla.

Its absorbing and mattifying properties prevent a shiny face. An irrefutable moisturizing treatment, this mask promotes elasticity, while also smoothing your skin. Mixed and oily skins are regenerated by the mask’s purifying, clarifying, remineralising and toning virtues.

After applying the Peeling Cream with Papaya, the Cream Mask with Green Clay and Pineapple is the ideal finishing touch to your purifying and toning ritual. Your skin is now perfectly primed to absorb all the beneficial properties of the Tonic Lotion, Mango Butter Cream or Enriched Mango Butter Cream.
