A mild exfoliant with natural substances, designed specifically for our delicate facial skin.

Papaya contains enzymes and is traditionally used as an exfoliant in the tropics. The round pearls of jojoba wax gently remove superficial roughness.

Benefits:
PAPAYA :
The papaya tree (Carica papaya L.), which is widely cultivated in the Caribbean, is an evergreen shrub whose leaves are grouped together at the top, resembling a palm. Its fruit – the papaya – is rich in vitamin C and provitamin A, as well as vitamins E, B1, B2, B5, B9, potassium, calcium and magnesium.

The many ways in which the papaya is used in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries are linked to its papain content. Papain is an important proteolytic enzyme renowned for its effect on dead skin cells, promoting skin renewal and improving the texture of the skin. The Caribbean Indians used papaya as a meat tenderiser, and it is still used as such to this day in the West Indies. A decoction of papaya tree leaves was traditionally prescribed to aid digestion.

The latex in the plant has also been used for centuries due to its therapeutic properties. It is applied to irritated skin and wounds to disinfect them, soften the tissue and encourage regeneration of the cells. Compresses prepared with the flesh of the fruit also provide relief, heal burns and soothe rheumatism. Papaya also contains catechin (a powerful antioxidant found in green tea), which helps combat ageing of the skin.

LIGNE ST BARTH uses the flesh from fresh papayas from neighbouring islands. The enzyme-rich orange flesh is chopped by hand and its juice is extracted for use in our cosmetic formulas. The micro-pearls of jojoba wax reinforce the emollient and gentle the exfoliating effect of the papaya extract by naturally removing cell debris and pollution residue without being aggressive to your skin.

Purify your tint and brighten your outlook:

A must-have in any beauty regime, Peeling Cream with Papaya is the perfect way – once or twice a week – to kick off your morning ritual. Pamper your face by massaging onto wet skin using light, circular motions, before rinsing off thoroughly. The gentle exfoliating action of the jojoba pearls is the perfect treatment for the more delicate areas of your face, including your lips. Peeling Cream with Papaya leaves skin looking smoother, more supple and brighter.

It primes your skin so that you can gain full benefit from subsequent treatments: Cream Mask with Pink Clay and Passion Fruit, or Cream Mask with Green Clay and Pineapple, followed by Mango Butter Cream or Enriched Mango Butter Cream.
