This design has been inspired by the artworks of French mineralogist Francois Louis Swebach Desfontaines (1749-1793) who created a series of exquisite watercolor drawings depicting mineral specimens in boxwork cabinets.
Contains 125 matches, measuring approximately 4" L.
The Archivist journey began in 1998 down in the archives of the Natural History Museum and is an element of Archivist's past that they are incredibly proud to celebrate. In 2025, Archivist pays homage to this crucial part of their beginnings by releasing a range of matchbox designs that have been made in collaboration with the Natural History Museum.

The designs are printed on beautiful textured board and printed using traditional letter press printers to give a wonderfully tactile & special finish. Many designs take inspiration from traditional match box covers which give them a wonderfully authentic, vintage look. They make the perfect gift for friends and family whatever time of the year!
Whilst fun is at the heart of everything the team at Archivist does, they also take the protection of the planet seriously - all sticks are sourced from strictly controlled FSC certified woodlands whilst similarly all packaging is compostable & eco friendly.
