Buff Dry Brush offers a self-care experience that is customisable for your body’s needs while encouraging the removal of dead skin cells. Originating from Ayurvedic practices, traditional benefits of dry brushing include lymphatic drainage, promotion of circulation, reduction of inflammation, and helps to smooth the appearance of cellulite revealing smoother, softer, more radiant skin over time.
At Mirror Water they also believe that a regular dry brushing ritual promotes a mindful connection with your body whereby you get to know your contours and dedicate your attention to areas that require more care.
Please note, brushes are sold individually.
Vegan dry brushes are often made with plant-based fibers such as sisal or agave, which can feel firm at first. If you prefer a softer feel, try this method:
1. Fill a bowl with warm (not hot) water and add a few drops of fabric softener.
2. Soak the bristles only. Dip the bristles into the water, ensuring the wooden handle stays dry to prevent damage. Do not soak the wooden handle.
3. Let sit for 5-10 minutes. This will help soften the sisal fibers while maintaining their exfoliating benefits.
4. Shake off excess water. Gently flick the brush to remove any excess moisture.
5. Brush bristles on a clean towel. Firmly rub the bristles against a dry, clean towel to help further soften and separate the fibers.
6. Air dry bristles down. Place the brush bristle-side down on a dry towel and allow it to air dry completely before use.
With consistent dry brushing, the bristles naturally soften as they adjust to your skin. To clean the brush, rub it gently with your hand or with a dry towel . Do not immerse in water as it may damage the wood.
To clean, wash the bristles with mild soap and warm water, then rinse and air dry with the bristles facing down. Do not immerse the wooden handle in water, as this may cause damage. Instead, gently rub the bristles with your hand or a dry towel to remove debris.
