This sisal, woven basket is 8" in diameter and woven by artisans in Gitarama, Rwanda. Each basket comes with a loop attached to the back so that you can hang it on the wall.

Measures approximately 8" diameter x 3" high


The women extract the sisal fibers from agave plants, then hand-dye and weave them into these beautiful works of art. The sisal is woven around sweetgrass, a fragrant grass with a subtle sweetness.

In addition to making a beautiful table display, these baskets can also be hung as art.


NOT Dishwasher safe; please hand-wash with soft cloth.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Amsha works directly with artisans across Africa. They focus on driving social change in underserved communities by bringing quality, ethically made goods to the marketplace. This is only the beginning for Amsha and for these artisans. Much of their story is still waiting to be written.

Amsha means "to awaken" in Swahili.
