More

The Japanese Hot Springs Experience Set contains four individual use packets with each soak dedicated to a specific mineral hot spring bath. Each soak is a deeply soothing experience and has its own distinct benefits rooted in traditional Japanese bathing culture.
Japanese yuzu citrus relaxes and brings positivity to the body and mind while wild orange replenishes, revives and uplifts. A refreshing mix of select feminine conifers such as organic white pine and organic balsam fir add brightness and the scent of clean, crisp air. Monarda flower relieves stress and promotes positivity while white frankincense reduces tension and encourages slow breathing.

Magnesium Chloride Hot Spring Soak: Known to heal and promote hydration of the skin. Helps the body retain heat. Deeply relaxing to the body and mind. Excellent for the relief of stress and stiff muscles. This soak utilizes hon nigari, a product of sea water from the Sea of Japan that is created during the sea salt drying process. These crystalline flakes are 99.9% magnesium chloride.

Magnesium Sulfate Hot Spring Soak: Traditionally used to heal cuts and bruises, these springs are known to be a toner to the skin through soothing, tightening and moisturizing. Relaxes the mind and body.

Sulfur Hot Spring Soak: Detoxifying, incredibly soothing, and softening to the skin. This soak is a blend of mineral rich Dead Sea salts and healing flowers of sulfur obtained from naturally occurring volcanic deposits. This soak has a faint, unique, elemental fragrance that is synonymous with Japanese hot springs. Sulfur springs are often an otherworldly milky white color due to the rich mineral content, as is the Sulfur Hot Springs Soak.

Sodium Bicarbonate Hot Spring Soak: These springs are popular among women in Japan and are known as "beauty waters". They have a softening effect on the skin and also aid in detoxification.

Directions

Decide on the hot springs soak that your body and soul need most.
Pause, shut your eyes, and set your intention for this ritual.
Read the story of the fragrance that is on the slip of rice paper tucked inside each box.

As in the tradition of Japanese bathing rituals, shower first.
This bath is for pure enjoyment and relaxation.

Once the bath is full, pour in the contents of one packet and soak for at least 20 minutes.
Shut your eyes, relax and breathe deeply.
Be sure to remain hydrated by drinking water throughout and after the bath.
Since this soak is extremely rich in minerals, Amayori suggests allowing the bath water to remain on the skin without rinsing after your bath.
When exiting the bath, get up slowly.
Take a moment to ground yourself and hydrate by drinking a glass of water.

Brand Info

The name Amayori comes from a memory of a romantic Sunday evening stroll among the unusually quiet, misty streets of Akasaka, Tokyo. Amayori is a combination of two Japanese names - Amaya (night rain) and Kaori (beautifully scented).

One of the pillars of the Japanese woman’s beauty routine is daily bathing for relaxation and well-being. Most Japanese women bathe in the evening and see the bath not as a luxury, but as an essential part of their lives. For thousands of years through present day, these daily bathing rituals have been considered the ultimate way to regain balance and to rejuvenate after a long day. It is this holistic approach to bathing and self-care that inspires the Amayori collection.
