Child Perfume by Child: The Cult-Classic Scent Everyone Falls in Love With

Some scents have an almost-mystical quality... These fragrances are few and far between, but once discovered they tend to achieve cult-classic status and stick around for a long, long time. Child Perfume is one of these scents, and despite a relatively low profile (you won’t find it at department or large-chain beauty stores) it has been the number-one selling fragrance on Beautyhabit for 10 years.

Billed as a white floral with top notes of vanilla, lilac and magnolia; heart notes of jasmine, tuberose and violet; and base notes of crème musk, rose and mimosa; it’s the lingering powdery scent that really hooked me. It’s soft and feminine yet somehow provocative—and I can’t stop sniffing my wrist as I write this. In fact, the smell is so intoxicating (and inspiring) that it just arrived for review this morning and I couldn’t wait to share my thoughts.

Perhaps the fact that each and every bottle of roll-on and spray is hand-poured by founder Susan D. Owens has something to do with the addictive aroma. And after 10 years, celebrities like Madonna, Jennifer Aniston, Khloe Kardashian, Mandy Moore, Britney Spears and a litany of others have professed their love for Child.
