• Feu de Bois - The warm, familiar, sophisticated accord of rare woods throughout the long winter days.
• Frankincense - A mysterious creation showcasing the precious resin frankincense. This fragrance will transport the user straight to the heart of the Arabian Nights.
• Opopanax - Opopanax is derived from a resin that is gathered in Egypt and like myrrh, it is one of the oldest perfumes in the world. This rich and earthy scent has a touch of sweet vanilla, making it absolutely irresistible.
Every year, Diptyque brightens up Christmas with the introduction of its holiday collection. This winter, diptyque invites you to suspend time and go on a fragrant journey to the heart of the Orient and the Tales of the Arabian nights.
The heritage of the weave
Long before its iconic candles and scents came into being, the Diptyque store at 34 Boulevard Saint Germain resembled a curiosity shop. A visionary space created by Christiane Gautrot, Desmond Knox-Leet and Yves Coueslant, three friends from art school. Passionate about interior design, the trio designed, produced and sold furnishing fabrics in elegant prints during the early ‘60s. A taste for graphic design led them to travel in search of unique objects such as the sublime Kilim rugs. Hand-embroidered by nomadic artisans, Kilims are immediately recognizable by their geometric variations. A maze of perfectly organised triangles and diamonds, with slight irregularities that make them extremely valuable. The minute artwork appealed strongly to the three designers, who adored its craftsmanship.
